Dear Sir/Madam:
The United States Government, represented by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), through the Mission in Macedonia, is seeking quotations from qualified local organizations to provide technical services as described in this solicitation. USAID/Macedonia anticipates awarding a firm fixed price purchase order with a period of performance of three months from the date of award as a result of this solicitation. Competition under this procurement will be limited to local organizations.
A local organization is defined as an individual, a corporation, a nonprofit organization, or another body of persons that: (1) Is legally organized under the laws of; (2) Has as its principal place of business or operations in; (3) Is majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of; and (4) Is managed by a governing body the majority of who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the country in which this contract will be primarily performed.
Please note that organizations submitting a quotation in response to this solicitation must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) (https://www.sam.gov) in order to conduct business with the U.S. Government. A successful registration in SAM means that the organization has obtained a DUNS number and has secured an NCAGE. The NAICS code for this contract is 541990.
Questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted by October 1, 2018 at 10am to Rade Knezevic at rknezevic@usaid.gov and Florentin Emini at femini@usaid.gov. Quotations, consisting of the documentation required in section L, must be submitted electronically to rknezevic@usaid.gov and femini@usaid.gov on or before the due date stipulated above. All submitted documents must conform to the requirements outlined in the solicitation.
Documents received after the deadline will not be considered. This solicitation in no way obligates USAID to award a contract nor does it commit USAID to pay any cost incurred in the preparation and submission of a q quotation. The authority for this RFQ is found in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures).

Today, June 28, 2018, USAID’s Business Ecosystem Project (BEP), together with Macedonian firms Zdravje Radovo, Sano, Ekoshar and Marancho, launched an initiative to help dairy farmers in Pelagonia modernize their milk production by co-investing in modern farming equipment and regional tranings that will be put to use on multiple dairy farms in the Pelagonia region to increase milk quality and yeilds. The new technology and know-how will make the region’s dairy farmers more competitive, enabling them to increase revenue and employment.
Today at Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje, USAID’s Readers are Leaders celebrated five years of achievements in improving early literacy in Macedonia at the closing ceremony of the project. USAID Country Representative David Atteberry, Minister of Education and Science Renata Deskoska, representatives from educational institutions, teacher training faculties and primary schools attended the event.
