Two new projects from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will address key healthcare challenges for Cambodians, including maternal and child health, and disease prevention and control. The projects, Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity (EQHA) and Promoting Healthy Behaviors (PHB), which launched April 8, 2019, will work with a broad range of key public and private sector health stakeholders and underscore the U.S. government’s support for improving healthcare in Cambodia, today.
Today, local and international representatives from the public and private sectors joined together for an inception and learning event held by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) new Greening Prey Lang program. The event convened more than one hundred partners working toward sustainable and effective management of the Prey Lang Extended Landscape (PLEL). Participants discussed findings from an extensive period of research and consultations undertaken by the program and shared information and better practices related to law enforcement, protected area zoning and management, and sustainable financing.
A new agriculture scholarship and research grant – supported by the U.S. government – was launched at Cambodia’s Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) today in a ceremony observed by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, H.E. Veng Sakhon and U.S. Ambassador William A. Heidt.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is guaranteeing an $8 million Women’s Livelihood Bond that will provide access to credit, market linkages, and affordable goods and services for an estimated 385,000 Southeast Asian women.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is proud to announce its support for “Phka Sla Krom Angkar” – an innovative and creative dance project that promotes peace and reconciliation throughout Cambodia by the artistic depiction of gender-based violence under the Khmer Rouge. This project is managed by a consortium of four Cambodian organizations: the Khmer Arts Academy (KAA); Kdei Karuna (KdK); the Bophana Center; and the Transcultural Psychological Organization (TPO).
