Excerpt from Cambodia Country Development Cooperation Strategy Results Framework
Over five and a quarter years, the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Supporting Forests and Biodiversity (USAID SFB) project delivered meaningful results that improved the conservation and governance of forest landscapes in Cambodia in order to mitigate climate change and conserve biodiversity.
The United States Government, represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking offers from qualified persons to provide personal services under contract as described in this solicitation.
The Wonders of the Mekong project will conduct applied research, build capacity, and develop outreach and communications products to highlight the economic, ecological, and cultural values of biodiversity and ecosystem services associated with the Lower Mekong River. The outputs and resulting products, developed as an integrated package, will lead to better protection of a vibrant and healthy Lower Mekong system.
As much as 80 percent of Cambodia’s population relies on aquaculture and fisheries for their livelihoods. But rural communities’ dependence on Cambodia’s rich biodiversity is increasingly under threat from illegal logging, overfishing, a changing climate, poor financial services and inadequate production and storage infrastructure for crops.
