Public organizations SPIN Plus and Amali Nek, supported by the Public Fund AFEW Kazakhstan and within the framework of USAID’s HIV React Project, are holding a thematic photo exhibition – "On the Edge." The purpose of the exhibition is to change the public’s attitude toward former prisoners, and create a tolerant and supportive environment conducive to their socialization.
USAID jointly with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population and the Republican Center for Protection of the Population from Tuberculosis hosted an event to celebrate accomplishments of the USAID Tuberculosis (TB) Control and Challenge TB programs in Tajikistan during the last five years. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) officially launched a new five-year project, the Agribusiness Competitiveness Activity in Tajikistan, in Bokhtar City. The National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan (NABWT) has announced the winners of the Farah 2018 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the United States Kevin Covert participated in presenting diplomas and prizes to the winners, and the competition’s general sponsor IMON Internationalawarded 100,000 Tajik somoni to the grand prize winner. NABWT conducted the contest in cooperation with the Government of Tajikistan, the State Committee for Investment and the State Property Management, the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, and through the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Khatlon regional government hosted the first-ever horticulture trade forum in Khatlon, a two-day event that provided networking and partnership opportunities for more than 300 horticulture producers, traders, and buyers from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. Attendees also discussed innovative solutions to stimulate trade and promote horticultural exports in Central Asia.
