About Tajikistan

Bordering Afghanistan and China, Tajikistan is a key ally in promoting regional stability and security. Yet, with nearly one-third of the population living below the poverty line, Tajikistan is one of the poorest countries in Central Asia. The United States partners with Tajikistan to strengthen democratic governance, boost economic growth, improve education, health, and food security and bolster regional economic connectivity.
