Power Africa is excited to again partner with EnergyNet for the Powering Africa Summit. With the support of our interagency partners, this event aims to drive power deals in Africa through strategic partnerships between investors, project developers, governments, utilities and regulators. The Powering Africa Summit provides a crucial platform for information sharing in order to encourage landscape-changing investment on the continent.
The 2016 meetings will explore the surge of private equity interest across sub-Saharan Africa, and provide an opportunity for high-level brainstorming around power projects that have piqued the interest of investors in recent months, including off-grid solutions, grid-connected infrastructure projects, and renewable solutions for agriculture. The summit will also tackle potential barriers to energy investment on the continent, from infrastructure financing to utilities. The 2016 Powering Africa Summit will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. on January 27 - 29. Learn more and register here.
Looking ahead, the Corporate Council on Africa's 10th biennial U.S.–Africa Business Summit, will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from February 1-4, 2016. This event will bring together business representatives and government officials, entrepreneurs and investors, decision-makers and managers, from throughout Africa, the United States and beyond. CCA’s U.S. – Africa Business Summit will be held in Africa for the first time since 2007. Locating the Summit in Addis Ababa will encourage participation by representatives from every country in Africa and allow for developing partnerships with the African Union, African governments and African businesses.
Both summits will offer outstanding opportunities to advance our shared goals of bring new, reliable and cleaner electricity to sub-Saharan Africa.
We hope to see you in Washington, Addis Ababa or both!
