The USAID Independent Living Program in Georgia is partnering with local government and civil society to help persons with disabilities live more independently and be more active in Georgian society.
USAID/Georgia launched the USAID Independent Living Program in Georgia to help persons with disabilities participate more fully in Georgian society. The new program is implemented by the McLain Association for Children (MAC) and will strengthen sustainable public services and evidence-based advocacy. It will conclude in September 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for everyone. It has also presented opportunities to reconsider pressing social issues, with USAID/Georgia using digital formats to continue the conversation on women’s empowerment.

In February, the USAID Agriculture Program announced a new round of innovation grants to support local food producers, processors, and distributors. These grants are designed to catalyze innovation in Georgia’s agriculture sector to increase revenues, create jobs, and drive economic growth in rural areas.

The U.S. Government, through USAID, announced that its Economic Security Program is supporting the production of packaging for nearly one million domestically manufactured medical masks to be distributed throughout Georgia. A partnership between USAID, Enterprise Georgia, and private sector manufacturers, this activity is helping protect the health and safety of Georgia’s citizens during the COVID-19 prevention period.
