In Europe and Eurasia and around the world, USAID and the White House-led W-GDP Initiative empowers women to start and scale their businesses.

Worldwide, women entrepreneurs are an emerging market force and an important source of innovation and job creation. Yet they often do not have equal access to the capital and business networks they need. The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how critical advancing economic opportunities for women remains – now more than ever, we need to empower women as workers and entrepreneurs.

Meet Lina Panteleeva from USAID’s Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance Office. Lina spends her free time with her beautiful family. She also contributes to Georgian democracy as an active citizen. Together with her husband, she votes in each and every election. Voting is her civic duty.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Lina plans to vote this year. She will be careful to follow all health and safety guidance when she goes to the polling station.

USAID supports the right of all people to participate in democratic elections and political processes.
