Development Activities

Speeches Shim

USAID is the world’s largest provider of international food assistance. For more than 60 years, USAID has brought hope and nourishment to the hungry corners of the world. USAID provides development food assistance to help vulnerable communities address the root causes of hunger and malnutrition so people are able to feed themselves in the long term. These activities aim to reduce chronic malnutrition among children under five and pregnant or lactating women, increase and diversify household income, provide opportunities for microfinance and savings, and support agricultural programs that build resilience and reduce vulnerability to shocks and stresses. For general inquiries about the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, please email AskBHA@usaid.gov.
