July 24, 2020

One hundred ventilators were delivered to Indonesia as part of the COVID-19 response efforts. USAID provided specially-treated mosquito nets in Laos to help prevent malaria transmission. USAID and the LEGO Foundation have each pledged $750,000 to the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies for global COVID-19 relief in education. USAID and partner Mercy Corps are providing food vouchers to displaced people in Mali.

A shipment of ventilators reached Paraguay as part of COVID-19 response efforts. To help protect Venezuelans from COVID-19, USAID partners Caritas Brasil is providing them with face masks. The 100 brand-new ventilators that the US donated to India have been successfully installed at hospitals in the service of those severely affected by COVID-19. The 2020 Acting on the Call Report on maternal & child health progress was released this week.

July 10, 2020

U.S. Ambassador Philip Goldberg delivered a donation of 200 ventilators to Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez to help Colombia's battle against COVID-19. USAID also delivered ventialtors to Ecuador, Pakistan, and a second shipment to South Africa. USAID announced $575,000 for the first BetterTogether Challenge Innovation Awards to support Venezuelans inside Venezuela and those who have fled the country. The World Food Program delivered nutritional supplies to hard-to-reach areas in the Amhara region of Ethiopia to help treat malnourished children and pregnant women.

July 2, 2020

USAID delivered ventilators to Honduras to assist with the COVID-19 response. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Lisandro Rosales and Minister of Health Alba Flores received the shipment. The President's Malaria Initiative celebrated its 15th anniversary this week and its accomplishments globally. The U.S. announced more than $696 million in additional humanitarian aid for the crisis in Syria. In Jordan USAID helped 80 community health committees continue to share important COVID-19 messages.

June 26, 2020

USAID delivered 250 ventilators to Peru to help fight COVID-19. President Martín Vizcarra accepted the medical supplies. 200 ventilators arrived in Brazil to help combat COVID-19. USAID delivered emergency equipment to the Ministry of Health and Wellness to support Jamaica's response to COVID-19. The Democratic Republic of the Congo declared an end to the Ebola outbreak in the eastern part of the country. Since 2018, USAID has deployed a response team and provided more than $342 million in support.
