USAID delivered medical supplies to help indigenous groups in Bolivia fight COVID-19. USAID provided 100 ventilators to Afghanistan, which are being distributed to hospitals across the country. USAID also provided 60 ventilators to the government of Maldives to support the country's response to COVID-19. In Mozambique, USAID provided respiratory care training to health workers.

Acting Administrator Barsa spoke at the Concordia Summit as part of the UN General Assembly activities.  His speech, "Foreign Assistance is National Security," highlights USAID's critical role within the U.S. national security structure. Also at the Concordia Summit, Deputy Administrator Glick discussed digital technology with Oracle CRO Safra Catz and Liz Schrayer of the USGLC. USAID and its private sector partners help millions around the world by promoting food security and resilience. In Madagascar, USAID built new water systems that will provide fresh, clean water to nearby communities. USAID Kosovo hosted Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick during her visit with DFC and other USG colleagues. USAID sent relief supplies for people affected by floods in Sudan.

USAID announced more than $15 million in additional humanitarian assistance to end the outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo. USAID and the World Food Programme distributed food aid to families following last week's floods in Afghanistan. USAID donated 50 brand-new ventilators to the Dominican Republic in the global fight against COVID-19. USAID and the LEGO Foundation announced a new partnership to increase "Learning through Play" for children to become creative, engaged, and life-long learners.

Under the New Partnerships Initiative, USAID announced 5 new awards totaling $95 million in global health, higher education, youth, and women's economic empowerment. USAID announced $1.17 million for 5 Better Together Challenge awards to directly benefit Venezuelans in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. USAID and World Vision continue to provide vital food assistance to people in Haiti, adapting distributions to protect against the spread of Coronavirus. USAID delivered 500 ventilators to Indonesia with support from the U.S. Air Force. USAID also delivered 200 ventilators to Uzbekistan and 200 to Sri Lanka.
