December 20, 2019

Administrator Green visited Haiti and Barbados to underscore U.S. commitment to the Caribbean people. In Haiti he saw firsthand the benefits of investing in the agricultural sector and promoting economic stability. In Barbados he visited the Holetown flooding resilience site. He also announced $10 millon to improve local resilience to disasters in the Caribbean. Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick delivered closing remarks at the 2019 USAID Global Infrastructure Workshop.

December 13, 2019

USAID is continuing earthquake response efforts to Albania, dispersing food, blankets & hygiene items. Administrator Green visited Virginia Task Force I, to thank them for their efforts as part of USAID's response to recent natural disasters. Dr. Michael Kremer, co-founder & scientific director of USAID's Development Innovation Ventures program accepted the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Administrator Green visited the USAID Haiti staff, to learn about current initiatives and priorities. He also met with UN Special Rep. Helen La Lime to discuss the current development challenges in Haiti.

December 6, 2019

D.A. Glick wrapped up her Hungary visit with a speech at the International Conference on Christian Prosecution. Administrator Green met with Sudan Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok to discuss potential partnerships. Global Health Acting Assistant Administrator heard from African researches fighting neglected tropical diseases. Wrapping up the week, Administrator Green spoke at the Professional Services Council's Development Conference and at the International Democrat Union Forum.

November 22, 2019

D.A. Glick began the week with a speech at the Development Finance Corporation Liaison Conference. Administrator Green and Ivanka Trump spoke about women's economic empowerment at the Women's Global Development & Prosperity event. USAID leaders shared insights during the 2019 agency town hall. D.A. Glick spoke about gender equality and women's empowerment at the first Breaking Gender Barriers conference. To wrap up the week, USAID celebrated Global Foreign Service National Recognition Day.

November 15, 2019

D.A. Glick learning firsthand about USAID's partnership with CBI Global, a spice processing facility in Indonesia. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and unveiling the Ronald Reagan statue.  Meeting USAID partners and host country officials in Kosovo.  Commemorating the U.S. Senate's approval of North Macedonia's accession to NATO.
