Administrator Green met with Saleumxay Kommasith, Laos Minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss current priorities and initiatives. Administrator Green met with Patrice Talon, President of Benin, to discuss how to strengthen the partnership between USAID and Benin. D.A. Glick spoke in Poland about countering authoritarianism and malign influences in vulnerable parts of the world. Former USAID colleague and now U.S. Ambassador Erin E. McKee met with USAID and local partners in Papua New Guinea to launch a biodiversity project.

Administrator Green met with Team Lucy Meyer to express USAID's shared commitment to an inclusive & accessible world for all persons with disabilities. Deputy Administrator Glick met with U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan and U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Michael Desombre to discuss USAID's work. Assistant Administrator for Legislative and Public Affairs Richard Parker traveled to Cambodia to visit with USAID partners and speak to senior USAID Communicators during annual training in Thailand.

January 17, 2020

Ten years later: USAID remembers the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. USAID met with the One Campaign, urging the U.S. government to maintain its commitment to working with GAVI, the vaccine alliance, to make vaccines available. Assistant Administrator for Legislative and Public Affairs Richard Parker travelled to Laos to visit with USAID partners. USAID is contributing to Australia's humanitarian response to the wildfires impacting the country.

January 10, 2020

Administrator Green discussed updated Ebola efforts in the DRC with Ambassador Michael Hammer. Administrator Green swore in Michelle Bekkering as the new Assistant Administrator for the Bureau of Economic Growth, Education & Environment. Administrator Green spoke about democracy and citizen-responsive governance during a conference at the United States Institute of Peace. Ivanka Trump thanked USAID staff for their work on the Women's Global Development & Prosperity Initiative.
