Power Africa Innovation Fair: Who did the President Meet?
During his visit to the Power Africa Innovation Fair, President Obama met with a number of Power Africa partners working to provide solutions for East Africa's off-grid communities. Follow the President’s footsteps and meet who he met from d.light, M-KOPA, and Solar Sister (three companies using solar technology to improve livesa>), and the winners of USADF's Off-Grid Challengea>, Afrisol Energy Ltd, Mibawa Suppliers and Pfoofy Power & Light.
Women helping women become the next generation of solar leaders
A USAID-funded Vocational Training and Education for Clean Energy (VOCTEC) program, led by Arizona State University, is training women to take advantage of the growing clean energy economy.

Reaching for the roofs: One million solar-powered homes in Tanzania by 2017
Four out of five Tanzanians -- an estimated 35 million people -- lack access to electricity. But now, Off-Grid:Electric, a founding partner of Power Africa's Beyond the Grid program, is working with the Tanzanian government to provide affordable off-grid energy to one million Tanzanian households, while creating 15,000 jobs by the end of 2017.

Teresia turns on the light
Teresia Olotai knows that life can be hard for Maasai women. When the sun goes down, their responsibilities remain, but the obstacles grow. That all changed in 2013 when Power Africa arrived. Electricity has brought more than just light to Lobulu bona. It’s given the Maasai a door to the world.
