WHAT IS SUPPORTING ENTERPRENEURIAL EDUCATION IN EUROPE AND EUROASIA PROJECT? 

Inaugurated in October 2017, the Supporting Entrepreneurial Education in Europe and Eurasia Project, implemented by Junior Achievement Europe, inspires and prepares young people to succeed in the global economy, by developing and implementing programs for entrepreneurial education, financial literacy and work readiness. The project works with high schools, students, teachers, and other supporting organizations, business associations, financial institutions, companies willing to support entrepreneurial education in North Macedonia. It also improves partnerships between businesses and schools to create a generation of young people, capable of applying innovative approaches and techniques in their curricular activities and prepare for the modern workplace.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED? 

  • Trained 197 teachers from 54 high schools across North Macedonia as mentors in the Student Company Program, encouraging practice and sharing of methods and techniques they use to teach entrepreneurship during the school year.
  • Conducted three Innovation Camps which offered 349 students (235 girls and 114 boys) from 48 secondary schools from 22 cities an opportunity to participate in a business challenge that involved creating a business plan and pitching the product/service to a panel of judges.
  • Conducted two national competitions that offered 155 students an opportunity to compete for North Macedonia’s Student Company of the Year and represent the country at the European Junior Achievement Competition for Best Student Company.
  • Assisted the winning company at the national competition participate in the European Company of the Year Competition in Belgrade, Serbia in 2018.
