The following archival publications present work performed under USAID’s Climate Change and Development Strategy (2012–2018).

USAID Climate Change and Development Strategy 2012–2018

Concluding in September 2018, the strategy guided USAID’s work assisting countries in their move toward climate-resilient, low-emission economic development. The strategy set forth three overarching objectives—Adaptation, Integration and Mitigation—pursued through three areas of activity—Adaptation, Clean Energy and Sustainable Landscapes.

This report describes how USAID’s climate and development work evolved, summarizes major achievements, distills lessons learned, and shares examples from a portfolio of activities across more than 40 countries and regional USAID missions.

Global Climate Action: For a Clean, Safe & Prosperous World

Illustrated through the example of the Philippines city of Cagayan de Oro, USAID has supported investment in clean energy and climate-resilient infrastructure to assist countries in managing risks while pursuing low-emission economic growth.
