As a result of a three-day training workshop in St. Lucia, Eastern Caribbean judges and magistrates are able to better support international agreements that outline the rights of a child, rehabilitative approaches, and juvenile justice reform.
Recognizing that education is key to democratic stability and economic prosperity, the United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has embarked on a comprehensive program to foster early grade literacy in six member states of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The Juvenile Court Project(JCP) has marked a significant milestone with the adoption by the T&T Government of new protocols governing cases involving children in conflict with the law. The Multi-Agency and Inter-Agency Protocols were signed on July 11, 2017, by representatives of nine Government agencies including the T&T Police and Prisons, Tobago House of Assembly, The Children’s Authority, Ministry of Education, Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and the Probation Department.
