The U.S. Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department, is providing an additional $1.47 million to help Azerbaijan respond to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bonnie Glick, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun, and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump announced $122 million in new activities and partnerships under the White House-led Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative, established by President Trump in February 2019. USAID/Azerbaijan will receive $2 million from the W-GDP Fund at USAID, which was established by the Initiative and is now in its second year.
BAKU – The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing $1.7 million to support the Azerbaijani government’s efforts to respond to the ongoing outbreak in Azerbaijan.
BAKU – Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Azerbaijan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (SMBDA) held a partnership summit to launch a new initiative called Supporting Business and Professional Associations in Azerbaijan. Over 100 representatives from the private sector, business associations, civil society, international organizations, and the Azerbaijani government attended the partnership summit.
BAKU – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Open Government Platform organized an international workshop to discuss international best practices on preventing the abuse of civil society organizations in relation to money laundering and financing of terrorism.
Today, Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Azerbaijan, Dr. Jaidev Singh, joined residents of Khudat and Gusar to celebrate the completion of two new projects implemented under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA) funded by USAID with support from the Ministry of Economy.
