The U.S. Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department, is providing an additional $1.47 million to help Azerbaijan respond to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bonnie Glick, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun, and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump announced $122 million in new activities and partnerships under the White House-led Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative, established by President Trump in February 2019. USAID/Azerbaijan will receive $2 million from the W-GDP Fund at USAID, which was established by the Initiative and is now in its second year.
The goal of this USAID strategy is an enhanced enduring partnership with Azerbaijan that advances the country’s development progress. The partnership is adapted to the country’s unique socio-economic situation, incorporating U.S. objectives for Azerbaijan’s journey to self-reliance.
