Venezuela is experiencing a political and economic crisis – marked by devastating hyperinflation – that has led to severe food and medicine shortages and has driven nearly four million people to flee their once-prosperous country since 2014.
This outflow of vulnerable Venezuelans is straining healthcare, education and other social services in neighboring countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
To help address this man-made crisis, the United States is providing robust support for response efforts throughout the region. For more information on USAID's regional humanitarian response, visit usaid.gov/estamosunidosve.
In addition to USAID’s regional humanitarian response, the Agency supports local human rights defenders, civil society, independent media, electoral oversight, and the democratically elected National Assembly in Venezuela.
