For seven consecutive years, the USAID Business Enabling Project (BEP) has surveyed Serbian businesses to determine their views about the quality of the business environment. The findings of this Business Survey serve as a signpost for the Government of Serbia (GoS) and the business community to prioritize and carry out reforms in areas that will result in the greatest improvements to investment, economic growth, and job creation. The Business Survey differs from similar research undertaken in Serbia due to its year-on-year comparability, broad range of respondents, and face-to-face interview process. The 2017 Business Survey was carried out by Ipsos Strategic Marketing between June 24 and August 8, 2017. Responses were collected from a representative sample of 1,035 registered business entities and sole proprietors active in Serbia and employing at least three staff, stratified by region, activity, and size.
