USAID works with the Government of Jordan as it pursues an ambitious agenda to expand economic and
employment opportunities, improve the country’s competitiveness, and accelerate private-sector growth to
strengthen its self-reliance and build a stable, prosperous future for everyone in Jordan.

On June 18, U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo announced an additional $75.5 million to support the global response to COVID-19, bringing the total pledged U.S. Government (USG) funding to more than $1 billion. To date, pledged funding from USAID includes more than $227 million in assistance from USAID’s Global Health Emergency Reserve Fund for Contagious Infectious-Disease Outbreaks (ERF-USAID), approximately $200 million in Global Health Programs (GHP-USAID) funds, $538 million in humanitarian assistance from USAID’s International Disaster Assistance (IDA) account, and more than $208 million from the Economic Support Fund (ESF).

Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (Asia EDGE) is a U.S. Government-wide initiative to grow sustainable and secure energy markets throughout the Indo-Pacific region, which spans the California coast to the western shores of India, by helping governments expand energy access, promote energy diversification and trade, and strengthen energy security.  USAID’s Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) manages the USAID Southeast Asia EDGE Hub (the Hub) to coordinate and enhance the effectiveness of USAID’s energy programs across Southeast Asia.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy’s national laboratories to support Asia EDGE and the growth of sustainable and secure energy markets across Asia. This collaboration, the Advanced Energy Partnership for Asia, led by USAID and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), helps partner countries transform their energy sectors. This Partnership leverages U.S. expertise to provide rigorous, unbiased, third-party technical leadership to enhance the adoption of best practices and deploy advanced energy systems at speed and scale.

The Yemen Continuous Learning and Evaluation (YCLE) project evaluates the performance and results of USAID activities while helping USAID learn and adapt for improved effectiveness. YCLE provides effective program performance monitoring and operational context insights; evaluates the performance and results of USAID/Yemen activities; and facilitates learning and adaptation for improved effectiveness. The project also enhances USAID’s MEL systems and staff capacity, including of local organizations, and provides third-party monitoring (TPM) of USAID activities in Yemen.

The U.S. government has so far allocated more than $12 billion that will benefit the global COVID-19 response, and we continue to ensure that the substantial U.S. funding and scientific efforts on this front remain a central and coordinated part of the worldwide effort against the disease.

Advancing international religious freedom is a major foreign policy priority of the United States in order to reduce levels of religious persecution, bias and discrimination, reduce religion-related violent extremism and terrorism, and track and prevent potential mass atrocities through early warning systems.

The USAID Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control project is designed to break through remaining, persistent barriers to reaching HIV prevention and treatment goals and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs.

A regional five-year activity works with and through community led non-governmental organizations to contribute to the implementation of countries national HIV programs in Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan.
