Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (Asia EDGE) is a U.S. Government-wide initiative to grow sustainable and secure energy markets throughout the Indo-Pacific region, which spans the California coast to the western shores of India, by helping governments expand energy access, promote energy diversification and trade, and strengthen energy security.  USAID’s Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) manages the USAID Southeast Asia EDGE Hub (the Hub) to coordinate and enhance the effectiveness of USAID’s energy programs across Southeast Asia.

Effectively managing a large-scale initiative, like Asia EDGE, which is spread over a tremendous geographical region, requires careful planning and implementation.  The Hub provides three kinds of support to ensure that USAID’s bilateral energy programs align with the objectives of the Asia EDGE initiative.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

The Hub assists USAID’s regional energy programs with market, sector, and technology assessments; work planning support; event planning; and facilitating engagement with private sector actors and multilateral financial institutions.

COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT

The Hub helps to tell a cohesive story of USAID’s energy programs across Southeast Asia by collecting, synthesizing, and amplifying results.  The Hub also aggregates lessons learned and best practices from across these programs to develop new tools and methods to share them.

MONITORING, EVALUATION, AND LEARNING SUPPORT

The Hub identifies relevant and replicable metrics to track progress; promotes effective data collection methods to ensure consistent reporting; and serves as a repository of trends, best practices, and impacts of USAID’s energy programs across Southeast Asia.
