USAID’s Reading Together project is designed to improve the reading skills of early grades (1-4) students through introducing new teaching methods and raising awareness in communities about the importance of reading.

Under this program, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) assists parliament members and factions with improving communication and outreach and developing issue-based platforms. NDI also supports broader participation in political processes through initiatives to help youth and women influence the country’s policy discussions.

The program continues outreach activities to promote political participation of women.

Under the program, IRI works to improve the Kyrgyz Republic’s democratic path by assisting in development of a strong multi-party political system, cultivating leaders by equipping youth and women with the skills to engage in the political process and improving local government transparency and responsiveness.
