Pristina, July 11, 2019 - President Hashim Thaci and USAID/Kosovo Mission Director Lisa Magno signed an amendment today to the bilateral development cooperation agreement between the U.S. Government and the Government of Kosovo. This amendment commits an additional $35 million from the United States, bringing the total U.S. commitment under the agreement to $198 million, with all funds administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). All funds will support Kosovo on its journey to self-reliance.
The terms of the agreement reinforce the principle that Kosovo’s commitment to its own development agenda, including through its own budget priorities, is key to Kosoov’s success. USAID continues to offer opportunities to both the institutions and people of Kosovo to work together to improve the rule of law, increase economic development, and promotie regional stability.
Since 1999, USAID, on behalf of the American people, has invested over $920 million in Kosovo’s journey to self reliance.
