The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and USAID/Kosovo Mission Director Lisa Magno signed a new bilateral development cooperation agreement between the U.S. Government and the Government of Kosovo today. This new bilateral cooperation agreement makes available another $33 million out of a planned total of $161 million from the United States through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in support of Kosovo on its journey of self-reliance.
This agreement reinforces the principle that ultimately Kosovo is responsible for its own development agenda, including through targeted budget priorities. With this renewed commitment, USAID will help Kosovo realize its democratic and demographic dividend through Kosovo-led solutions. To achieve this goal, USAID will increase government accountability and leverage new democratic and economic opportunities. These efforts reinforce the U.S. Government’s continued focus on peace, justice, and prosperity.
Since 1999, USAID has invested over $950 million in Kosovo’s journey to self-reliance on behalf of the American people.
