The USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program (JCP) is a flagship economic development activity of the U.S. Agency for International Development in the Kingdom. Now in its sixth year, JCP has devised an approach that structures its interventions within four complementary work streams: adding value to the Jordan Compact, increasing exports, promoting investment, and improving the climate of doing business in Jordan.

The Jordan Communication, Advocacy and Policy (J-CAP) activity is a five-year (2014-2019) USAID-funded activity that works to increase demand for family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services. This is accomplished by implementing social and behavior change communication interventions and enabling a more supportive policy environment. This will help ensure a healthy future for Jordanian families and progress toward Jordan’s national development goals.

Jordan meets nearly all of its energy needs through oil and gas imports. The country faces fluctuating international energy prices and rapidly increasing domestic demand, the costs of which are highly subsidized. The USAID Energy Sector Capacity Building Activity (ESCB) supports Jordanian energy producers, utilities and consumers to adopt best practices in energy efficiency and to support development of alternative and renewable energy sources.
