Speeches Shim

Through results-driven investment, USAID works with the Government of Indonesia, local leaders, the private sector, civil society and other development partners to strengthen a just and accountable democracy, expand basic services, and enhance mutual security and prosperity.

Achievement Highlights

  • In clean energy, our work mobilized $40 million public and private investments for energy finance to support Indonesia in meeting its goals for universal electrification and low-emissions growth.
  • In water, sanitation, and hygiene, our support helped 327,000 people have better access to sanitation, unlocking improved health and productivity.
  • In health, our program supported a 25 percent increase in the number of TB Cases reported to the National TB Program, meaning that more people are getting the treatment they need.
  • Through inclusive workforce development, 10,000 graduates from USAID-supported technical and vocational training centers reported new or improved employment, a step forward for Indonesia's human resources and improved livelihoods.
  • In accountability, an upgrade to the LAPOR-SP4N! system is helping to resolve public service complaints 64 percent faster.

We believe that the pathway to progress is in lifting lives, building communities, and supporting our partners to progress beyond assistance.
