In a bid to break societal stigmas surrounding some of the most taboo topics in India and help young people make more informed choices about their health, internationally acclaimed social change organization MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Viacom18 have launched a behaviour change campaign around reproductive health and tuberculosis (TB), with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Johnson & Johnson Services Inc.

The three-day conference was jointly convened by USAID, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the U.K.’s Department for International Development (DFID).

To observe National Nutrition Week, the non-profit Digital Green organized a 'National Workshop on the Role of Technology in Improving Health, Nutrition, and Family Planning Outcomes,’ in New Delhi today. Key stakeholders from the government, private sector, and NGOs came together to share their experience with Digital Green’s United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Project Samvad. Using how-to video clips, the project is helping to change social behaviors related to family planning, maternal and child health, and nutrition in rural communities.

Over 100 participants from eight South and South-East Asian countries attended today the “Regional Workshop on Fall Armyworm Management in Asia” organized in Hyderabad. The Fall Armyworm (FAW) is one of the most destructive crop pests and has invaded crops in India and other countries in the region including Bangladesh, Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

Ambassador Juster Launches New Initiative to Bring Indian Corporations into the Fight to End TB

U.S. Ambassador to India Kenneth I. Juster today launched a bold new initiative designed to galvanize India’s corporate sector in the fight against tuberculosis (TB). This initiative supports the Government of India’s ambitious goal of eliminating TB by 2025, which would be five years ahead of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal. The initiative creates a shared platform for corporations committed to ending TB in India. The event was held in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM India) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
