#SeeEveryColour is a two-year campaign addressing stigma against children with disabilities. It focuses on the abilities of children rather than just seeing their disability. The campaign highlights the importance of inclusiveness, while addressing common misconceptions around people with disabilities. The end of year event event celebrated the campaign’s achievements, lessons learned, and the many young Georgians who will continue to benefit from the campaign.
The campaign has reached more than 1.4 million people - changed public perception and brought real change in policy aimed at helping children with disabilities. #SeeEveryColour started in Tbilisi in February 2017 and spread nationwide. Led by young people with disabilities and their parents, the campaign engaged with students, civil society, artists and actors, professional organizations, municipal governments and many more. The campaign gave everyone an opportunity to tell their story and express their individuality, all in the name of equal rights, non-discrimination and positive messaging. Inclusion and integration were the core messages. Participating groups told stories, conducted social media and outdoor activities, art installations, public speeches, debates, and municipal-level contests.
The #SeeEveryColour social change campaign was led by UNICEF Georgia with support from USAID and the European Union.
