The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), has donated 200 ventilators to Uzbekistan to assist its fight against COVID-19. This assistance is just the latest donation by the United States of critical supplies in response to Uzbekistan’s request for international assistance related to the pandemic.

The United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), has donated 200 brand-new, state-of-the-art ventilators to Sri Lanka, delivering on President Trump’s offer of critically needed supplies and supporting Sri Lanka’s fight against COVID-19. The ventilators were handed over to Sri Lanka’s Minister of Health Hon. Pavithra Wanniarachchi by the U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Alaina Teplitz.

Last year, 25-year-old Zhaniya Aldekeyeva, completed a doctoral degree in medicine. Not one to stop there, she then enrolled at Nazarbayev University to pursue a master’s in public health. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she hasn’t started classes yet. But there was work to do so she connected with her fellow Red Crescent of Kazakhstan volunteers to help prevent the virus’ spread.

The United States continues to work closely with the Government of Senegal to ensure a comprehensive COVID-19 response fostering both public and private sector involvement. The U.S. Agency for International Development recently donated nearly $100,000 (55 million FCFA) worth of materials to support Senegal’s fight against COVID-19, including masks, gloves, and other essential protective equipment, as well as antiseptic products. This donation, specifically destined for 250 private sector service delivery points, is being distributed in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Private Health Sector Alliance, or ASPS (Alliance du Secteur Privé de la Santé).

United States Provides 100 Ventilators to the Philippines to Support COVID-19 Response
August 28, 2020

The United States donated 100 new, state-of-the-art ventilators and associated supplies to the Philippines to assist its fight against COVID-19. U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, and Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque led the handover of the ventilators at Malacañang Palace on Friday, August 28.
