Central Asia has the potential to re-establish a commercially viable, market-based power system. A Central Asia Regional Electricity Market, or CAREM, will assure the region’s long-term energy security and economic growth and also serve as a platform for an expanded Central Asia-South Asia regional power market.
On March 17, the U.S. Embassy handed over personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing (ASEW) as part of the United States’ second PPE donation to Uzbekistan to prepare for the potential spread of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
USAID partners with communities, hospitals, and ministries in all Central Asian countries to improve TB diagnosis and treatment and to adopt cutting-edge methods and technologies to stop the spread of tuberculosis. USAID also supports innovative approaches to address TB among migrants and other at-risk populations and has worked with the governments of all Central Asian countries to develop effective and comprehensive treatment plans for people with TB in the region.
Today, the United States through its Agency for International Development (USAID) handed over personal protective equipment (PPE) to the City Center for Ambulance Services in Nur-Sultan. This equipment is part of the United States government’s early assistance to Kazakhstan to prepare for the potential spread of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19. In addition to the PPE, USAID has also allocated additional funding to support Kazakhstan’s response to COVID-19.
Acting Country Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Tajikistan Ms. Katherine Owens, and World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office Head, Dr. Galina Perfilieva, handed over personal protective equipment to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan at a ceremony in Dushanbe today as part of the United States’ assistance to Tajikistan to prepare for any potential spread of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
