Max Primorac is the Chief Assistant to the Acting Deputy Administrator, and acts as the Chief Operating Officer, Senior Agency Vetting Official, and Regulatory Reform Officer for USAID. 

Max Primorac brings over 30 years of experience working in complex conflict environments in the Middle East, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Latin America addressing stabilization, peace-building, democracy promotion, political transition, and humanitarian relief. Previously he was the Administrator's Special Representative for Minority Assistance Programs in Iraq overseeing the Agency's Genocide Recovery and Presecution Response Program. 

Prior to joining USAID, he was President of the Institute of Stabilization and Transition, was a USAID contractor advising the Government of Afghanistan on subnational governance, and worked on transatlantic projects promoting U.S.-European strategic partnership. At the U.S. Department of State, he was Senior Advisor for Stabilization and Transition to the Secretary of State's Iraq Coordinator and managed over $2 billion in foreign assistance. He graduated from the University of Chicago and Franklin & Marshall College.
