Mission Director

Kendra Schoenholz serves as the Mission Director for the U.S. Agency for International Development Mission for Guinea and Sierra Leone, based in Conakry, Guinea.  With over 20 years of development experience, Ms. Schoenholz completed an assignment at the National War College, where she earned a Master's degree in national security strategy just before coming to Guinea.  Prior to the National War College, Ms. Schoenholz served as the Deputy Mission Director in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  During her tenure, Ms. Schoenholz provided leadership during a tumultuous time that included three outbreaks of Ebola, two evacuations, a terrorist threat, presidential elections, and numerous days of sheltering-in-place.  Ms. Schoenholz has also served in Cambodia, Afghanistan, Thailand, Sudan (now South Sudan), Iraq, and Senegal.  She began her career with USAID as an Auditor in the Office of Inspector General and then moved into the financial management area as a Controller.  Additional professional experience includes the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services as well as Deloitte and Touche, LLP.  In addition to her Master's degree in national security strategy, Ms. Schoenholz holds a Bachelor's degree in linguistics and a Master's degree in accounting.
