Accra, Ghana - More than 4,400 young Africans leaders are trained and ready to help shape the future of public management, business and entrepreneurship, and civic leadership in West Africa. As part of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), launched by the United States Government as a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders, the 12th YALI Cohort was presented with plaques of completion at a celebration held at the Regional Learning Center at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on November 23, 2018.
This latest cohort marks a milestone achievement for The YALI Regional Leadership Center (RLC) in West Africa. To date, the center has trained 4,416 young leaders since 2014.
USAID West Africa Regional Mission Director, Daniel Moore, congratulated the participants, and praised their commitment to improving lives in their respective communities. Mr. Moore also reminded participants that they played a key role in shaping West Africa, reminding the young leaders to serve as “agents in uniting citizens within their communities and countries across all sectors to be builders of peace and development”.
