USAID Supports the First Central Asia Media Festival “Mediacamp Fest”

Over the past three days, more than 150 media professionals from across Central Asia convened at the first Central Asia Media Festival “MediaCAMP Fest” in Dushanbe. “MediaCAMP Fest” provided a professional platform for journalists from Central Asia to network, share their experiences and ideas, and discuss the most pressing questions and challenges for media in the region. The Internews Network, with support from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), organized the event.

Photo Exhibition "On the Edge" Aims to Increase Tolerance of Former Prisoners

Public organizations SPIN Plus and Amali Nek, supported by the Public Fund AFEW Kazakhstan and within the framework of USAID’s HIV React Project, are holding a thematic photo exhibition – "On the Edge." The purpose of the exhibition is to change the public’s attitude toward former prisoners, and create a tolerant and supportive environment conducive to their socialization.

Usaid Celebrates Achievements in Tuberculosis Control in Tajikistan

USAID jointly with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population and the Republican Center for Protection of the Population from Tuberculosis hosted an event to celebrate accomplishments of the USAID Tuberculosis (TB) Control and Challenge TB programs in Tajikistan during the last five years.  The event highlighted U.S. government contributions to reduce TB cases and deaths in the country.

U.S. Government Marks International Book Day In Public Schools in Tajikistan

In honor of International Book Day, the United States Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. to Tajikistan Kevin Covert joined Deputy Minister of Education and Science Latofat Naziri, local authorities, education officials, teachers, and students in celebrating International Book Day at Vahdat School #3. Events are being held across the country to mark this occasion and are part of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) primary grade literacy program in Tajikistan.
