En el Perú, y especialmente en las zonas rurales, a menudo las organizaciones gubernamentales carecen de los recursos y de la capacidad de gestión para ser eficaces. Para abordar estas debilidades, USAID trabaja con el Gobierno del Perú, los gobiernos locales, gobiernos regionales y la sociedad civil para mejorar la calidad de los servicios públicos y promover una gobernanza transparente.
Effective government institutions that represent the interests of all citizens are essential for economic growth and prosperity. Throughout Peru, and especially in remote rural areas, government organizations often lack the capacity and resources to be effective. To address these issues, USAID has partnered with the Government of Peru, local and regional governments, and civil society to improve the quality of public services and promote transparent governance.
USAID Peru Mission Director Lawrence Rubey inaugurated the Cacao and Coffee Pavilion of ExpoAlimentaria – Peru’s largest food trade show which took place in Lima. The Association for Exporters (ADEX) estimates that 650 companies and 45,000 people visited ExpoAlimentaria 2018.
U.S. Ambassador Krishna Urs and Peruvian Minister of Education Daniel Alfaro Paredes celebrated the culmination of more than 70 years of collaboration to improve the education system in Peru in an event with guests from the education sector of Peru, members of the diplomatic community, and officials of the Peruvian Government.
USAID participated in the eighth annual ExpoAmazonica trade fair in Pucallpa, Ucayali from August 9-12, showcasing businesses and other organizations from all over Peru’s jungle regions.
