The following is attributable to Spokesperson Clayton M. McCleskey:
Today, U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Mark Green met with Colombian President-elect Ivan Duque in Bogota. Administrator Green congratulated the President-elect on his recent election victory, and reaffirmed USAID's commitment to its strong partnership with Colombia. Over a working lunch, the Administrator and the President-elect discussed opportunities to build on the success of existing U.S.-Colombian initiatives, and explore new avenues of cooperation on key areas of mutual interest, such as promoting lasting peace in Colombia, addressing the Venezuela crisis, and supporting licit economic growth in Colombia. The Administrator noted Colombia's key role as a leader in the region, and he told the President-elect he looks forward to working with his incoming administration.
