Kosovo’s civil servants are essential to fostering accountable and responsive governance, instituting reforms, and bringing needed expertise and institutional knowledge to their jobs.  USAID’s Transformational Leadership Program - Public Policy Development and Leadership  is working to support these dedicated public servants through an intensive program to build their leadership, public policy analysis, and program evaluations skills at both the central and municipal levels.

On October 25th, USAID Deputy Mission Director Lisa Magno spoke at the certification ceremony for the 4th cohort of the program’s talented graduates, joined by representatives from the local and central government, the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)/Kosovo, and recent graduates.  In her remarks, she highlighted the role of the program as investment in Kosovo’s future, and she congratulated the graduates, noting that “public service provides the essential continuity, the stability in any government.  Your impartiality and professionalism, your expertise and integrity, these build the crucial foundation as Kosovo’s political institutions develop and mature.”
