Business registration presentation workshop
USAID Partnership for Development

As part of its ongoing efforts to institutionalize business registration reforms and further improve the business registration process, the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (KBRA) with support from our USAID Partnerships for Development Program, held a series of four regional workshops with municipal business registration officers from the central and municipal levels.

During these workshops, KBRA presented its initiative to institutionalize the performance measurement system launched during 2016.  This new system allows KBRA to measure the efficiency of services provided to citizens by the business registration centers, and is expected to increase transparency and encourage increased process discipline across all business registration centers. Furthermore, the workshops were also used as forum to discuss the business registration provisions of the new Draft Law on Business Organizations currently being drafted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The business registration officers were also informed about the ongoing reforms as a part of the Government of Kosovo’s World Bank Doing Business reform initiative.  Kosovo moved up to 13th world-wide for the “Starting a Business” indicator and to 64th in the overall Doing Business ranking.
