On February 7th, USAID/Kosovo Deputy Mission Director Mike de la Rosa participated in a certification ceremony for public procurement officials in Kosovo. Procurement officials from all 38 of Kosovo’s municipalities, as well as various Kosovo ministries, agencies, and publicly-owned enterprises participated in the training held from September - November 2016. In total, more than 400 officials participated.
The training was conducted by the Public Procurement Regulatory Commission in partnership with the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration, the USAID Advancing Kosovo Together - Prime program, and the Association of Kosovo Municipalities. The objective was to train and certify public procurement officials from all Kosovo municipalities, thereby strengthening the competent management of Kosovo’s procurement systems so as to build critical trust between citizens and public officials.
