To support youth skills development in Kosovo, USAID launched its After School Support for Teens activity on May 23 in seven new municipalities. In partnership with municipal education and high school directors, USAID, through its activity, is supporting the implementation of Kosovo’s national core curriculum for high school students. This support includes providing modern technology, training and mentoring teachers, and establishing career and enterprise hubs to promote employability and the development of entrepreneurial skills among Kosovo’s youth.
At the event, Chargé d’Affaires Colleen Hyland noted that, “this program, which complements what students are learning in school, builds the kind of communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills that are essential in today’s workplace.” This five-year, USAID-supported activity is currently operating in 16 municipalities in Kosovo.
