Viti continues to pioneer access to property documents for citizens, initially with the instalment of the e-kiosks and recently with the refurbished facility for cadastral archives. As of last week, Viti became the first municipality in Kosovo to create environmentally safe municipal cadastral record archive, which is fully fire and humidity protected.

The refurbished archives were launched on April 11, as a result of partnership between USAID’s Property Rights Program and Municipality of Viti. Mayor Sokol Haliti praised the partnership and the progress in ensuring necessary information and most importantly access to property documents for citizens, referencing the cadastral archive and the e-kiosk.

Along the same lines Pristina municipality recently marked the successful installation of an e-kiosk. The e-kiosk allows citizens to obtain issuance of property ownership certificates and property tax invoices. The efforts are part of USAID’s work to ensure that Kosovo citizens can exercise their rights with greater ease and effectiveness, and free from the threat of corruption.
