Digital media, including social media, is an essential communication tool for political parties and their public relations teams.  To help political parties more effectively use and benefit from social media, USAID and the National Democratic Institute invited young political party activists to attend the fourth edition of NDI’s New Media School (NMS), which began in October 2018 and ended in May 2019.

Originally launched in December 2012, NMS aims to educate political party representatives on the role of new communications technologies and how to use them to organize election campaigns, engage with constituents, and promote transparency.  Through three previous editions of NMS, 90 participants received certifications, and have gone on to contribute to their parties’ communications platforms during elections or in day-to-day activities.

At the closing ceremony for the latest edition of NMS, Mission Director Lisa Magno congratulated graduates on finishing the course and urged them to use their new skills and knowledge “wisely and with integrity to drive Kosovo forward, not apart.”
