Today, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Assistant Administrator Javier Piedra met with Kazakhstan International Development Agency (KazAID) Coordinator Rapil Zhoshybaev to strengthen cooperation on development and humanitarian assistance and explore future strategic opportunities for collaboration between the two agencies.
The USAID-supported Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus activity, implemented by U.S. Pharmacopeia, provides technical assistance to sustainably strengthen medical product quality assurance systems in low- and middle-income countries through cross-sectoral and systems strengthening approaches.
The U.S. government through its Agency for International Development (USAID) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) delivered $6.2 million worth of assistance including essential laboratory equipment and supplies to support the Government of Kazakhstan’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Like millions of people around the world, Bagila Akhatova has been working from home since March. Instead of lecturing from a university classroom, she now uses applications such as Teams, Quizlet, Jamboard, Padlet, and WhatsApp, and is available around the clock to her students virtually.
