Today, the United States signed six grants totaling $350,000 to support hundreds of home-based businesses (HBBs) in Jordan, primarily those that operate in the food-processing sector.
As part of the continuing cooperation between the United States and energy industry stakeholders in Jordan, the Energy Service Provider (ESP) Business Forum was held on the 4th and 5th of October to expand business opportunities and increase the business agility and technical capability of Jordan’s energy services companies. The Coalition of Energy Services Associations (CESA), in partnership with the USAID Energy Sector Capacity Building (ESCB) Activity and the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO), organized the Business Forum at the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman.
Today, the United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), opened the Vocational Training Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Training in Marka. The institute, with support of USAID and the Employment, Technical and Vocational Education Training Fund (E-TVET) underwent an extensive renovation.
With support from the United States, the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) and the Jordan Water Company Miyahuna today inaugurated the Amman Water System Improvement Projects, which will save more than 1 million JD in annual energy costs and improve the water supply to about 1 million people living in Amman.
Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) launched the second phase of “Cultivating Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environment” program today, September 6, 2016 in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Jordan. The second phase, which will continue to be funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will run until July 2019 and train 6000 teachers in 300 schools.
