As part of the U.S. government’s support for entrepreneurship in Egypt in general and as part of the U.S. Embassy’s long-standing commitment to economic development in Egypt, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has cooperated with a number of Egyptian organizations to launch the Women Entrepreneurs Network (WEN). The Network will provide training in financial literacy, connections to online marketplaces, and assistance in general to Egyptian women who want to start and manage their own businesses.
First Lady Melania Trump landed in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday Morning. Entissar Amer, the First Lady of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Thomas Goldberger, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy to Egypt, greeted Mrs. Trump.
As part of Egypt’s economic reform program, the United States signed a $13.8 million agreement today to help build the capacity of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and its subsidiary companies. This agreement reflects the American people’s support for the priorities of access to water and wastewater services, in alignment with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Plan 2030.

Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) celebrated the graduation of 37 women from all over Egypt who received USAID scholarships to earn Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degrees at premier universities in the United States.

Responding to a request by the Government of Egypt to contribute to Egypt’s family planning efforts, USAID Mission Director Sherry F. Carlin joined Minister of Health and Population Dr. Ahmed Emad Rady to launch a new program to strengthen Egypt’s family planning in response to Egypt’s rapid population growth.
