Alyson McFarland is the USAID Country Representative for Botswana. Ms. McFarland joined USAID in 2009 and first served as the USAID representative on the Hungarian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. Ms. McFarland went on to work in Mongolia, South Sudan, and Armenia; her most recent assignment was as the USAID Provincial Director in Lahore, Pakistan.
Prior to joing USAID, Ms. McFarland worked with the Department of State in the Bureau of Arms Control. She holds a BA in Political Science from Gettysburg College and an MA in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii.
