Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and GIZ Thailand provided a set of implementation guidelines to Thailand’s Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Thai Photovoltaic Industries Association and the private sector to support solar rooftop photovoltaics (PV) deployment in Thailand’s commercial and industrial sectors.

Today, the United States Agency for International Development, through its Oceans and Fisheries Partnership (USAID Oceans), and the SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries, Inc. (SFFAII) announced a partnership to roll out the Philippines’ new electronic catch documentation and traceability (CDT) system for seafood products, with a focus on tuna.
The Women’s Livelihood Bond will provide more than 385,000 Southeast Asian women with access to credit, enhanced linkages to supply chains, and affordable goods and services to improve their livelihoods. The $8-million bond will benefit women in Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), is guaranteeing 50 percent of the loan portfolio’s principal.

Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a five-year regional program to promote private finance and investment in the agriculture, forestry and other land uses (AFOLU) sector to promote economic opportunity and reduce deforestation. USAID’s Regional Development Mission for Asia awarded the five-year, $19 million USAID Green Invest Asia program to Pact, a U.S.-based development organization.

Under the Feed the Future initiative in Asia, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is building a diverse regional agricultural innovation community to test, adapt and share the latest practices and technologies with smallholder farmers in South and Southeast Asia’s emerging markets, with a focus on Bangladesh, Cambodia and Nepal.
