Speeches Shim
Craig Hart is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia. Prior to joining the Bureau, he served as the USAID Deputy Mission Director in Vietnam from 2016 to 2020. Prior to this he attended the National War College in Washington, DC (2015-2016), served as the Supervisory Program Officer in Tanzania (2011-2015), Deputy Program Officer in Afghanistan (2010-2011), Supervisory Program Officer in the Republic of Georgia (2006-2010), and Program Officer in Washington, DC (2005-2006).
Before joining USAID, Mr. Hart served with the U.S. Peace Corps from 1995-2005 as Country Director in Armenia, Deputy Country Director in Russia, Program and Training Officer in the Kyrgyz Republic, and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Russian Far East.
Mr. Hart received a Master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Vermont, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. His awards include the 2011 C. Herbert Rees Memorial Award and USAID Distinguished Honor Awards in 2015 and 2020.
